The annual Camden Garden Club’s Winter Horticulture Series kicks off its return on Tuesday, January 30 at 10 a.m. in the Picker Room at the Camden Public Library, located at 55 Main Street.

This year’s presentations will include information on community gardening, the master gardener program and biodiversity in the garden. The series will continue each Tuesday at 10 a.m. through February 27. The Winter Horticulture Series is free and open to the public.

January 30: Irene Brady Barber, Program Coordinator and Educator for Adult Horticulture at the Coastal Maine Botanic Gardens will speak on "Gardening for the Senses." She will discuss designing gardens and gardening practices that enhance a gardener's senses.

February 6: “Year-Round Farming at Chewonki.” Chewonki is a school, camp and environmental education organization that inspires transformative growth, teaches appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and challenges people to build thriving, sustainable communities throughout their lives.

February 13: "Gardening for Community." Ev Donnelly will speak about how she started the community garden at Hospitality House.

February 20: "Gardening for Growth & Learning." Liz Stanley from the Cooperative Extension will speak about the Master Gardener programs and other initiatives of the Extension.

February 27: "Gardening for Biodiversity." Marjorie Pronto and Reeser Manley will discuss the importance of planting for biodiversity in our gardens as well as introduce their book, The Life In Your Garden: Gardening for Biodiversity.
