The Potager

On Thursday, October 26, Anne Perkins, an avid gardener who raises a variety of flowers and vegetables for local restaurants, and head gardener and landscaper at the Knox Museum in Thomaston, will speak to members and guests of the Camden Garden Club about the ornamental gardens of Versailles.  The Potager du roi (Kitchen Garden of the King) was created between 1678 and 1683.  French gardens were divided specifically into the Potager and the Verger and Ms. Perkins will enlighten her audience on the history of these gardens and how to plant them.

The meeting will be held at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street in Camden beginning at 9:00 am with refreshments, followed by the presentation at 9:30.  The meeting is free and open to the public.  Camden Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine and National Garden Clubs, Inc.  Guests and prospective members are always welcome.  For more information about the club and its activities visit www.camdengardenclub.org or contact camdengardenclub100@gmail.com.
