Astrid, owner of Honey Petal Plants is a single faced pollinator friendly dahlia grower from Brooks, ME. Astrid will show us how to grow single-bloom dahlias and other pollinator-friendly biennial plants from seed. 

Hypertufa Demonstration by Rosemary Tottorono

Award-winning watercolorist and graphic artist, Rosemary will demonstrate how to make lightweight pots called hypertufa, using materials from your own garden.

Framed Flower Art by Barbara Balduman 

Barbara, a member of the Thomaston Garden Club, will demonstrate how to design and construct framed pieces using Maine grown flowers and herbs. 

Active Native Plant Growing by Lynn Rutter 

Lynn is the President of Wild Ones MidCoast Maine and an experienced environmental educator. She is the creator and director of a nature-based school program called Roots n Shoots. Lynn will be demonstrating how to actively grow native plants.

From Seed to Bottle; Making Salve from an Organic Maine Garden by Deb Soule 

Deb Soule is the founder of Avena Botanicals. Deb will be demonstrating how to make a salve using organic herbs from her Maine garden. She will donate the salve to New Hope for Women.

Swiss Chard and garden green bouquets by Sheilagh Guyer 

Sheilagh is a member of the Thomaston Garden Club. Picture in your mind a beautiful bouquet which is completely edible! Sheilagh makes gorgeous bouquets with kale, chard, herbs, edible flowers and an assortment of other yummies from the garden. 

Quick Pickles from Your Garden by Sandy Oliver 

 Sandy Oliver is a food historian who gardens, cooks, and writes on Islesboro."Over the years, I learned, usually the hard way, a few valuable lessons. Be sure to put up what you like to eat in the quantities most useful to your household. Two dozen jars of chutney is impressive; but, really, how much can you, will you, eat?”

Delightful Dahlias by Marina Sideris 

Marina is the co-owner of Dooryard Farm in Camden. Dooryard Farm is a MOFGA certified small family-run farm and they recently purchased the dahlia farm next door. Marina will share her knowledge of dahlias.   

Beginning Bee Keeping by Jane Dunstan 

Jane is a Board Member with the Maine State Beekeeping Association and she teaches beginning beekeeping classes. she will be demonstrating basic beekeeping techniques and will be bringing a demonstration hive.
